Lieutenant Colonel (LTC) Sharetta Glover:

LTC Glover was born in Camden, Arkansas. She graduated from Camden Fairview High School in 2000. LTC Glover graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology and a Minor concentration in Chemistry and Military Science from Henderson State University in 2004. She completed her Master’s Degree in Public Health from the American Military University in 2017.

LTC Glover began her military career by enlisting in the Arkansas Army National Guard in July 2002, in Company A, 212th Signal Battalion, Arkansas Army National Guard. In August of 2002, she became a Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC) Simultaneous Membership Program (SMP) Cadet at the Henderson State University and Ouachita Baptist University ROTC program. LTC Glover received her commission to Second Lieutenant as an Army Medical Department (AMEDD) Officer upon graduation.

LTC Glover completed the AMEDD Basic Officer Leadership Course in 2005, and the AMEDD Captain’s Career Course in 2008. She attended the Human Resources Management Qualification Course in October 2015, and the Intermediate Level Education Course in December 2015. She completed the Advanced Operations Course in September 2018, the Support Operations Course in November 2019, and the Medical Strategic Leader’s Course in 2022.

LTC Glover has served in a variety of assignments throughout her career. She served as an Operations Officer at the Arkansas Army National Guard Medical Readiness Detachment and later became the unit commander for Arkansas Medical Readiness Detachment before joining the Active Guard/Reserve (AGR) program as the Medical Operations Officer for the 61st Civil Support Team (CST). In 2010, she became the Science Officer for the 61st CST and in 2014 she became the 87th Troop Command Brigade S1. In 2016, she was assigned as the commander of the 213th Medical Company (Area Support) while still filling the role as the Brigade S1 in a full-time capacity. In 2018, she returned to the 61st CST as the Deputy Commander. She was the first African American Female to serve as the Deputy Commander of the 61st Civil Support Team. LTC Glover served as the Personnel Services Branch Chief for the Deputy Chief of Staff- Personnel from June 2020 until June 2021. Her current full-time assignment is the Deputy State Surgeon at the Arkansas Medical Readiness Detachment. As the Deputy State Surgeon, she works with the State Surgeon to manage the medical readiness for all Soldiers in the Arkansas Army National Guard. On July 20, 2023, LTC Glover assumed Command of the 39th Brigade Support Battalion. She is the first African American Female to command a Battalion in the history of the 39th Infantry Brigade.

LTC Glover is a Past President and former legislative chair of the National Guard Association of Arkansas (NGAA). She is a lifetime member of the NGAA and National Guard Association of the United States. Additionally, LTC Glover is a lifetime auxiliary member of the Enlisted Association of Arkansas National Guard and a member of Association of United States Army. She currently serves as the Treasurer of the Arkansas National Guard Museum Foundation. She is also a member of the Governor’s Challenge Team to prevent suicide among service members, veterans, and their families.

LTC Glover’s awards and decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal (4th Award), Army Commendation Medal (2nd Award), Army Achievement Medal (5th Award), Army Reserve Component Achievement Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Medal, Armed Forces Reserve Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Arkansas Service Ribbon (4th Award), Arkansas Emergency Service Ribbon, Tennessee National Guard Commendation Medal, and the Texas Adjutant General Individual Award.
