Chief Warrant Officer Three (CW3) Courtney Wallace:

CW3 Wallace was born in Conway, Arkansas. He graduated from North Little Rock Oak Grove High School in 1981, and he received an Associate Degree in Science degree in 2004 from Vincennes University.

CW3 Wallace’s illustrious military career began on July 29, 1981, when he enlisted in the Army under the delayed entry program. He completed Basic Combat Training at Fort Jackson, South Carolina. He received his Advanced Individual Training (AIT) at Fort Jackson, South Carolina, where he acquired the Military Occupational Skill (MOS) of 63B10, Wheeled Vehicle and Power Generator Mechanic. His first duty assignment was with Service Battery, 1/17th Field Artillery Battalion, Fort Sill, Oklahoma. While on active duty, CW3 Wallace had follow on assignments with the 26th Service and Supply Company (Germany), C Battery, 2/2 Field Artillery Battalion, Fort Sill, Headquarters and Headquarters Battery, 2/43rd Air Defense Artillery (Germany), and Company B, 4th Engineer Battalion, Fort Carson, Colorado.

On October 8, 1992, CW3 Wallace enlisted into the Arkansas Army National Guard and was assigned to several units to include the 148th Evacuation Hospital, North Little Rock, 936th Air Traffic Control Platoon, Camp J.T. Robinson, Company D, 114th Aviation Battalion and Det 1, Company B, 935th Combat Support Battalion. His duty assignments consisted of Wheeled Vehicle Mechanic, Motor Sergeant, and Shop Foreman. CW3 Wallace deployed in support of Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom.

On August 4, 1996, CW3 Wallace was hired into the Full-Time Federal Technician Program at Field Maintenance Shop (FMS) 7, as a Heavy Mobile Equipment Repairer. In June 1998, he was assigned to the Arkansas Army National Guard Combined Support Maintenance Shop (CSMS) as a Heavy Mobile Equipment Mechanic. While working at CSMS, CW3 Wallace entered the Warrant Officer Candidate School (WOCS) Program. He completed Warrant Officer Candidate School on March 22, 2002, and was Commissioned as Warrant Officer One, 915A, in the Ordnance Branch. He was later assigned to the Arkansas Army National Guard Surface Maintenance Office on July 23, 2004, as an Equipment Specialist (GEN). On July 6, 2009, CW3 Wallace was selected as the Surface Maintenance Mechanic Supervisor for the Consolidated Maintenance Facility at Fort Chaffee, Arkansas. He was the first African American to serves as the Surface Maintenance Mechanic Supervisor for the Consolidate Maintenance Facility at Fort Chaffee.

The Consolidated Maintenance Facility is the second largest maintenance facility in the Arkansas Army National Guard. It is a state-of-the-art facility that has over 150,000 S.F., and its employees maintain and service vehicles and other equipment that is assigned to the Arkansas Army National Guard units in the western part of the state.

CW3 Wallace additional military assignments include Unit Maintenance Officer, Company B, 935th CS Battalion (Forward), Support Staff Maintenance Tech, Joint Force Headquarters-Arkansas, Support Auto Maintenance Officer, Company F, 39th Brigade Support Battalion, 39th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, Support Auto Maintenance Officer, Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 2nd Battalion, 153rd Infantry, 39th Inf. BCT, and Support Auto Maintenance Officer, Company B, 217th Brigade Support Battalion, 142nd Field Artillery Fires Brigade.

His military education includes 63B, Wheeled Vehicle and Power Generator Mechanic (AIT), Military Vehicle Troubleshooting Course, Drivers Training and Vehicle Maintenance Course, Primary Leadership Development Course, Basic Noncommissioned Officer Course Phases I and II, Advanced Noncommissioned Officer Course Phases I and II, Total Army Instructor Training, Warrant Officer Candidate Course, Warrant Officer Basic Course, Warrant Officer Advanced Course, Battalion Motor Officer Course, Maintenance Leader Course, Commanders Safety Course, Action Officer Development Course, FMTV Training Course, Material Readiness Course, and the Support Maintenance Shop Supply Course.

CW3 Wallace has obtained civilian certificates and licenses in the following: ACE certification in Engine Repair, Suspension and Steering; Brakes and Engine Performance, Certified Chevrolet Technician, NRI Achievement Award, Master Course in Automotive Servicing and Servicing Motor Vehicle Air Conditioning.

During his military service, he has received awards and decorations to include the Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal (5th Award), Army Achievement Medal (7th Award), Army Good Conduct Medal (4th Award), National Defense Service Medal, Overseas Ribbon (2), Army Service Ribbon, Southwest Asia Medal, Global War on Terrorism Medal, Liberation of Kuwait Medal, Iraqi Campaign Medal, Army Overseas Training Ribbon, Army Reserve Component Achievement Medal (4th Award), Arkansas Federal Service Ribbon, Arkansas Service Ribbon, Arkansas Emergency Service Ribbon, Army Meritorious Unit Commendation Medal and the Mechanic Badge with Component Bar.

CW3 Wallace retired from the Arkansas Army National Guard on November 26, 2010, with over 29 years of distinguished military service. He currently lives in North Little Rock. CW3 Wallace served as President of the Usher Board for 6 years at Trinity Grove Missionary Baptist Church in North Little Rock.
